Project: Note Well Book

Note Well is a photographic journey by Debbie Carlos. I art directed and designed the book for 5x7 books. Buy it here.

Debbie's photos attempt to capture objects at their moments of greatest clarity: In certain light, at a certain time of day, in a certain place. The method is to wander and notice. Moments of quiet strangeness, patterns of light and shadow, minute-by-minute surprises, changes that don’t happen, something askew, something exactly in place, natural and artificial phenomena, are all sources of inspiration, and the subjects for her work.

- Offset printed
- Black interior with green cover
- First edition of 250
- 32 pages + cover

Project: Collections by The Post Family

This past summer The Post Family designed a show about collecting simply called, "Collections." We curated 213 jars of individual collections both small and large, infinitely significant and border-line garbage. Priced accordingly. We also created personal projects based on our interpretations of the theme. I love collecting paper so I decided to create something that i wish had in my collection. Giant square graph paper. Why has no one ever made giant square graph paper?

Project: Fuller Typeface (work in progress)

It all started by wanting a bold sans with some humanity. Self-titled, Fuller, has been an ongoing project for about 2 years now. Something that I pick up for an hour and then never touch again for 6 months. I have scrapped many versions. I finally found my voice in past 3 months. It's a completely foreign process to me but rewarding every step of the journey.

I hope to have a finished font by 2020.

Project: GOOD magazine, Neighborhood Flag Project

I was asked by GOOD Magazine to design a flag that represents where I grew up for their Neighborhood issue. Meet River Bend Circle in Exeter, NH. Suburban utopia. Perfect little colonial homes on a perfect little circle. Just mix in some streams and trees for good measure.

I designed Brian's logo and business card for 3 very important reasons:

1. He needed them.
2. He is an awesome photographer.
3. His name is magically symmetrical.

Check out Brian's work.

Project: 45

This ink drawing explores the journey a needle takes across a record’s surface. The end result is a texture that resembles the qualities found in a beautiful, worn record with all the pops, warps and scratches included.

Drawn to the scale of 7 inch record.

I have reproduced the drawing as an offset poster:
